Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a topical solution, often plant or fruit based, used to smooth the texture of the skin by removing the dull, damaged outer layers. Choosing a peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the overall appearance of your skin.

Truffles Chocolate Peel

Lactic / Chocolate Extract / Resveratrol / Açai Berry – This is a wonderful peel for anyone dealing with aging and pigmented skin. It is enriched with Lactic Acid that will exfoliate the outer surface of the skin and encourage new cell turnover. It is a natural humectant, which pulls moisture from collagen to the skins surface. Lactic is an excellent acid choice for dry and sun damaged skin. This treatment is relatively non-irritating with very little, if any, down time. Our Lactic acid peel has been enhanced with a "skin lightening" and anti-aging cocktail of herbal remedies. Lactic is a mild acid and can be applied 1-2X per week to keep skin moist and exfoliated. This is a progressive peel. A series of six - eight treatments will give the most beneficial results.

Truffles Pumpkin Peel

Glycolic / Vitamin C / Pumpkin Extract / Green Tea – The benefits of this peel help to reduce wrinkles, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and improve many other skin conditions, including actinic keratosis, hyperkeratosis, and seborrheic keratosis. Glycolic acid is a known inhibitor of tyrosinase, which means it can suppress melanin formation and lead to a lightening of skin color. It has also been found to offer an effective treatment for melasma in Asian women. A series of six - eight treatments administered weekly or bi-weekly, will give the most beneficial results.

Truffles Jessner Peel

Salicylic / Lactic / Resorcinol – Jessner Peels feature Salicylic (beta hydroxy acid) Lactic (alpha hydroxy acid) and Resorcinol, which is known for its keratolytic action that smooths out rough textured skin or peel-resistant skin. This is a medium depth peel most beneficial for those with extensive damages, problematic and cystic acne. It is not recommended for overly dry types or pigmented skin*.
*If you have melasma, heavily pigmented, are darker skinned or have a tan, it is best to first treat the pigment with a bleaching/fading gel prior to peel usage. We also recommend using a retinol or retin-A cream or gel to thin the top layer of the skin, increase cell turnover, and help the peel penetrate deeper into the skin. Use of these products should be discontinued 2-3 days before the peel to prevent over-irritating the skin during treatment. It is important to note that Jessner Peels are not recommended for darker skin tones as they may cause discoloration. Contraindications include anyone with an active bacterial, viral or fungal infection, tendency to keloid formation, facial dermatitis, taking photosensitizing medications and unrealistic expectations.

Truffles Platinum Ultra Peel

TCA / Lactic / Kojic / Azelaic Acid / Ascorbic – Azelaic & Kojic Acid suppresses the melanin in the skin if hyperpigmentation is a concern. The depth of this peel is determined by the number of layers applied during a treatment. Two to three coats will produce a light exfoliation that lasts three to four days; four to six coats will produce a moderate exfoliation that lasts four to seven days; and seven or more coats may produce heavy shedding that could last up to 10 days. To get exceptional results our Aesthetician will apply multiple layers, waiting several minutes between each layer, until a light even frost is achieved. Upon seeing frost, this is the end point, and no additional layers will be applied.
*It is important to applying moisturizer regularly while healing. Allowing the skin to become dry will actually cause the process to take longer.

Truffles Sensi - Peel

Gluconolactone / Mandelic Acid / Lactic Acid / Panthenol (DL) Topical Solution – Truffles Sensi-Peel is an excellent treatment for sensitive and couperus skin. Gluconolactone is a naturally occurring polyhydroxy acid (PHA) with metal chelating, moisturizing and antioxidant activity. Its ability in fighting free radicals accounts for its antioxidant property. The AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) in this treatment are less irritating, but still very effective for treating damaged skin. This peel is also great for treating stubborn acne. Mandelic acid is excellent for controlling acne without the need for antibiotics or excessively irritating products. It is safe to use for people with Rosacea or darker skin tones. This treatment will promote a high skin cell turnover rate, resulting in: fewer fine lines and wrinkles, more even skin tone, smoother skin texture, and decreased blemishes.

Truffles Signature Peel

Azelaic Acid / Lactic / Phytic Acid / Retinol – Azelaic acid can significantly diminish the appearance of skin blemishes, help fade post-acne marks and other discolorations, refine skin’s surface, and reveal a more even skin tone. It can even reduce skin sensitivity and is compatible with any skin type. It has a radar-like ability to interrupt or inhibit what's causing skin to act up. Skin "hears" the message azelaic acid sends and responds favorably, which leads to skin that looks remarkably better, no matter your age, skin type, or concerns. Phytic acid has been shown to be an effective chemical peeling agent for the treatment of melasma and acne. The peeling action of Phytic acid has been described as similar in effect to the more popular Glycolic acid but does not need neutralization after application. Phytic acid is a low-risk ingredient for skincare use and safe to use on skin. A series of six - eight treatments administered weekly or bi-weekly, will give the most beneficial results.
