Deep FX

Deep FX is the newest addition to fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing. This skin treatment uses micro laser beams to go deeper into the skin. This deeper penetration will soften deep wrinkles, acne scarring, and even improve burn scar and keloid scars. It is a wonderful treatment for the deep lines around the lips (perioral lines).
Deep FX is most often performed with Active FX for a more profound correction. This combination of Active FX and Deep FX is called Total FX. While Active FX treats the entire face, Deep FX is used as a spot treatment for the areas of deep wrinkles, acne scars, burn scars, and keloid scars.
Other Uses
There has been some wonderful reports on treating burn scars. A series of Deep FX treatments will soften the scar, decrease the scar bulk, and give a better color match with the surrounding normal skin. The same principle can be applied to keloid or hypertrophic scars. These spot treatments of burn scars, keloid scars, and hypertrophic scars are usually performed under local anesthesia and there is minimal downtime.
When Deep FX is performed with Active FX, it is common to have some oozing for a day or two after the procedure.
